Tips For Making Your Perfume Last Longer

Moisturize: One of the best ways to increase longevity is to make sure your skin is well moisturized. Perfume tends to dissipate much more quickly on dry skin, so applying an unscented moisturizer or balm prior to application will help hold the fragrance last longer. Dry skin tends to absorb fragrance like a sponge and dissipate it more quickly, so always make sure you are applying to moisturized skin.

Apply To Pulse Points: Apply perfumes to your pulse points (wrists, neck, behind your ears, and back of your knees) where they will bloom on the warmth of these areas to slightly intensify the fragrance. The warmth generated in these areas helps the fragrance unfold and evolve throughout the day.

Mist Your Hair And Clothing: Perfume tends to adhere to and linger on fabrics, so consider spraying a light mist on your clothing after testing the fabric for the possibility of staining. You can also lightly mist your hair to create an additional halo of scent. Be aware that alcohol can be drying to the hair and this can be avoided by using oil-based perfumes.

Store Your Perfume Correctly: Keep your perfume away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, as these can alter the composition of the fragrance. Store it in a cool, dark place to preserve its longevity. Be sure to never keep your perfume in the bathroom, since the temperature fluctuations and humidity will effect the composition over time.
